Goals from Mikel Vesga and Aitor Paredes proved to be enough for Athletic Club as Quique Sanchez Flores' Sevilla suffered their ninth La Liga loss of the year. Sevilla are presently 16th in the standings, a far cry from their typical standards. Following the dismissals of Diego Alonso and Jose Luis Mendilibar, Sanchez Flores is now their third coach of the year. Over the summer, Ramos returned to his childhood team after letting his Paris Saint-Germain contract expire. However, even the legendary defender has failed to turn the tides at the club and cut a frustrated figure after the defeat.
