Ten Hag's job hasn't been very secure over the last few months and his future remains in doubt ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final with Manchester City. To make things more tense for the Dutchman, as per The Guardian, Man Utd have already noted down Tuchel as the new favourite to join the club in case they decide to part ways with the Dutchman.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford, chief executive Jean Claude-Blanc, and Jason Wilcox, the technical director are the ones who are taking charge of the hunt for the potential new head coach and they have landed on the former Bayern Munich boss as they believe he has the 'temperament to handle seasoned players'. Pochettino is also on the list after leaving Chelsea and is thought to be keen on the job.

Tuchel parted ways with Bayern this season after the Bavarians failed to win the Bundesliga for the first time in ten years and also went trophyless for the first time in 12 years. The German's departure from the club was complicated with Bayern having announced in January he would be leaving. A change in heart then seemed to ensure before Tuchel ultimately announced that his decision was final and he would not be Bayern boss next season.

WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD?

Before the end of the season, the Red Devils still have the FA Cup final to contend with and that match could be pivotal to whether Ten Hag will remain as the manager next season. A win against Manchester City on May 25 could help the Dutchman's cause for staying at the club.
